Principal's Message

My name is Charles Stevens and I am the proud principal of Lee-Davis High School. Lee-Davis High School and Hanover County Public Schools has a strong tradition and commitment to excellence in education. Having lived in this school community for over 21 years, it is both and honor and privilege to serve as principal. I encourage you to view my weekly blog and to look for weekly eConnect messages.

 About me

During my 21 years in secondary public education, I have been a school principal, assistant principal, teacher, peer coach and mentor, publications adviser, club sponsor, and athletics coach. I earned my undergraduate degree in Communications/Journalism at Lynchburg College in 1991. Prior to entering public education, I was head women’s basketball coach at Lynchburg. While coaching at LC, I earned my M.Ed. in Sports Psychology from the University of Virginia. The majority of my public education career was spent teaching journalism and advising both the yearbook and the newspaper at Lee-Davis High School. I also spent eight years serving as a behind-the-wheel driver education instructor. In 2006, I earned my Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from the University of Virginia. In 2010, I had the honor of receiving the Gold Key from Columbia Scholastic Press Association at their annual conference in New York City.

My family and I still reside in Mechanicsville. My wife and I have been married for over 24 years and we have two sons, ages 22 and 18. Both are proud graduates of Lee-Davis High School.

We are an International Baccalaureate School, and a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School.
