Here’s how you can help at home…
Check your child’s Agenda nightly. Initial it after ensuring that your child has completed his or her homework to the best of his or her ability.
Have your child do his or her homework independently whenever possible. Read over your child’s work to see that all answers are complete. Help your child find any errors in spelling, capitalization, punctuation, etc.
Study with your child (or have your child study independently if possible) for upcoming tests and quizzes.
Go over the papers that are sent home each week in the Wednesday Folder / Home Communication Envelope. Praise your child for their academic gains. Work with your child to review any areas of weakness. Check with your child’s teacher to see if work can be redone. Your child will need to master each skill throughout the year, so regular review is essential for success.
