How do I Apply to HPI?

 We will only accept completed applications so please be sure to have all documents with you.  If you have any questions please call our office.


Please bring your completed application and documentation to the
Hanover County School Board Office located at
200 Berkley Street Ashland, VA  23005. 

  • Children must be three (3) or four (4) years of age by September 30, 2017.

  • School bus transportation is available in most areas.

  • Meals and supplies are provided with guidelines.

  • Applicants must be a resident of Hanover County.

Note: Priority given to four (4) year olds and 10% of the actual enrollment will be children with disabilities.


   You will need to have the following in order to process your application:

  1. Two current verification of residency - One form MUST be a lease, deed, or multi-family disclosure form.  The second proof could be any of the following:  taxes, land line phone bill, personal property tax (paid), check stub, voter registration card, and/or some other forms of documentation may be considered

  2. Income Verification - (Completed taxes, 3 months of your most recent paystubs, W-2, official letter from your employer, SSI notification, TANF notification, Child Support Order, and a few other legal forms of documentation may be considered)

  3. Official Birth Certificate

  4. Child's medical insurance card

  5. Current physical

  6. IEP (if applicable)

  7. Custody Papers (if applicable)
