Assistant Principal
Ms. Andrea Herndon

Chickahominy Middle School truly is “the best place to learn and achieve.”  The students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community members all work together to create meaningful learning opportunities, build positive relationships, and foster personal growth as we prepare students to face the challenges of the future.  My role, as assistant principal, is to “assist” in all three of these areas.  In fact, one could say that I teach “decision making.”  Middle school is a challenging time for students, and I am proud and honored to help guide the students on their journey.

Mrs. Herndon earned a Bachelor's degree from Radford University in political science, later earned a Master's degree in education, also from Radford University and an Ed. S. in Administration and Supervision from the University of Virginia.  Before coming to Chickahominy Middle School, Mrs. Herndon served as an administrator at Radford University, taught sixth and seventh grade in Floyd County, and served as a classroom teacher and senior teacher at Chickahominy.  Outside of school she enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her husband, Craig.
