truly is “the best place to learn and achieve.”
The students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community
members all work together to create meaningful learning opportunities,
build positive relationships, and foster personal growth as we prepare
students to face the challenges of the future.
My role, as assistant principal, is to “assist” in all three of
these areas. In fact, one could say
that I teach “decision making.”
Middle school is a challenging time for students, and I am proud
and honored to help guide the students on their journey.
Mrs. Herndon earned a Bachelor's degree from Radford University in
political science, later earned a Master's degree in education, also from Radford University and
an Ed. S. in Administration and Supervision from the University of Virginia.
Before coming to Chickahominy
Mrs. Herndon served as an administrator at Radford University,
taught sixth and seventh grade in Floyd County,
and served as a classroom teacher and senior teacher at Chickahominy.
